ABOUT ELAINE

My Mission

I empower smart, midlife women who've been dieting for decades to untangle the relationship between food and emotions so they can outsmart overeating and finally feel at peace with food.

I believe overeating is never about willpower or worthiness. It’s about unmet human needs, emotional hunger, and the impossible standards women have been taught to live up to. When we learn how to truly care for ourselves, rest without guilt, and meet our own basic needs with compassion—everything changes.

My mission is to help you break free from the shame cycle, rebuild trust with yourself, and create a relationship with food—and your body—that feels calm, empowered, and sustainable for life.

My Story

I grew up in the 1960s fueled by Pop-Tarts, Wonder Bread, Jello—and an almost unlimited supply of soda pop (thanks to my dad's job as a sales rep for RC Cola). Nutrition education was basically non-existent, and emotional eating quietly became my coping strategy long before I had words for it.

By my teens, diet culture had me smitten. Twiggy was the ideal, Seventeen Magazine was the rule book, and crash dieting became my sport. I'd lose weight, and gain even more—over and over. I learned that shrinking my body never made me feel worthy—it just made me feel hungry and worthless.

In my 20s, I studied psychology and then decided to pursue my dream of going to fashion school in San Francisco. Fashion school taught me that anything above a size 2 was considered “ignorable." I was far from a size 2 due to stress eating from my new, high-stress job as an assistant buyer (be careful what you wish for!). So I hid behind black clothing and big handbags—until I'd had enough. I decided to explore my beautiful city by foot and I began walking the steep hills of San Francisco. Walking daily helped me reconnect to my body which led me on the path to healthier eating and taking better care of myself.

Eventually, I lost weight and became a Jenny Craig consultant—on the outside, an expert, but on the inside, still struggling. I could create a 1200-calorie meal plan in my sleep, but I hadn’t yet healed my own relationship with food. Worse, I helped client after client lose weight . . . but then they'd regain it after leaving the program. They blamed themselves, but it was never their fault. It was the system that had failed them. My heart was heavy . . .

That was my wake-up call.

I stepped away and studied everything I could about nutrition, the psychology of weight loss, and habit change. I finally became a certified nutrition coach and certified life and weight loss coach. I began unraveling what diets never address: the emotional roots of overeating, the shame cycle, and the loss of self-trust women are conditioned into at a very young age.

Today, I eat with enjoyment and ease, trust myself and my body, and no longer live by food rules or fear of weight gain. And now, I help women do the same—by reconnecting with their inner wisdom, breaking free from diet culture, and creating food freedom that actually lasts.

I'm here to help you meet your heroic self, reclaim your self-worth, and live a joyful, empowered life in a body you adore—without shame, restriction, or starting over ever again.

A Note From Me

My best guess is that deep within your heart, there's a quiet knowing that you were meant for more than dieting, struggling, and starting over. You deserve to enjoy food, feel at home in your body, and love the life you're living right now.

What brings me the greatest joy is helping women like you turn that knowing into reality. By shifting your identity and reconnecting with who you truly are, you can release the extra weight that's been weighing you down—physically and emotionally.

If you've spent decades bouncing from one diet to the next, only to end up right back where you started, you're not alone. I've been there too. As a former Jenny Craig Weight Loss Consultant and chronic yo-yo dieter, I spent years trapped in diet culture before I finally found a different path—one built on self-awareness, self-trust, and sustainable change.

Now it's my mission to help you do the same.

Because the greatest transformation isn't just losing weight—it's shedding the outdated beliefs that have been holding you back and discovering what you've truly been hungry for all along.

Your dreams are valid, BraveHeartista. And it's never too late to create a life that feels even better than you imagined.
